My Valentine’s Gift List

Fragonard, Jean Honore. The Bolt (Le Verrou) c. 1778.

Valentine’s Day is swiftly approaching and with it comes a certain level of gift giving anxiety for the men in our lives. I do think most of us women would be happy with a homemade card and a clean kitchen, but because of societal pressure and countless hours of chick flicks, sometimes a little gift is called for as well.

I have made my husband a list of appropriate, budget-friendly gifts for any occasion… but especially for Valentine’s Day. It used to be longer but then I started to worry about fragrance/parabens so carte blanche at places like Crabtree & Evelyn and the Body Shop is out.

See’s Candy – polar bear paws, milk-chocolate bordeaux, anything with carmel, toffee, peanut butter and/or marshmallow
Country Living UK edition magazine
Romantic Homes magazine
Mrs. Meyers Clean Day soy candle – lemon verbena scent
Flowers – posies, roses, sweet peas – (color combination: white, pale pink and green)
Movie theatre gift card
Lottery Scratcher cards
Dessert from Sellands Market or Ginger Elizabeth
Whole Foods gift card – for beauty products
A used DVD replacement for one of my VHS films – you have no idea… there are so many I still watch on my vcr. Valley Girl, Baby Boom, Catwalk, Sliding Doors, Crush, Cold Comfort Farm… the list goes on.

Hope you found this list interesting or useful in some way. And maybe it will inspire you to make your own list. Enjoy!
