A New Year!

I didn’t make New Year’s Resolutions this year… mostly because I didn’t keep many of them from last year. But also because I prefer to do what a lot of other bloggers are doing out there and that is… choose a word for the year.

My word for 2011 is… stretch. I was relatively good about stretching physically in the first part of 2010, but then things kind of went downhill after my gallbladder removal. I guess I was much more motivated to walk and do yoga prior to the surgery and once it was over, meh, not so much.

So yes, stretching physically. But also stretching figuratively – in otherwords stretching that tiny comfort zone of mine to include more life experiences and to dream on a bigger scale. I tend to say to myself “hmmm, I’m not sure I’m ready for that” and then I don’t do anything to GET ready. This year of stretching will be to say “I don’t know that I can do that perfectly, but I’m gonna try it and see what happens.”

I’m not talking about skydiving, people. Let’s not get crazy. I mean taking a chance by contacting a potential client that seems out of my league, by taking a class, by cooking at home more, by seeing my Facebook friends in real life, by creating a new *Mondo Beyondo list and to travel more.

Hope you are all enjoying the start of the new year and have identified some words or themes or resolutions that will make 2011 great!

*mondo beyondo list idea comes from the Superhero Journal.
