Indulge Sea Salt Caramels

photo from the Indulge Caramels website (used without permission but I don't think they'll mind)

I was looking through an old issue of Cooking Light magazine and stumbled across a small blurb about these sea salt caramels from Indulge Caramels in Oregon. Feeling adventurous and also with an eye toward finding a good gift […]

Recovery Products

There were many things that made this recent recuperation bearable – most importantly, my husband, family and friends. Here are a few items that seemed to add civility to an otherwise lame period of staggering around the house in varying degrees of pain:

Summer Lovin’

Well maybe not so much Summer Lovin’ as Summer getting by’in. It’s pretty fricken hot, people! And this photo is actually from our beautiful Spring, when the air was cool and I wore socks everyday. It is my desire to eventually move to a place where I can actually look forward to summer the […]

Loved the book Women Food and God: An Unexpected Path to Almost Everything. Seriously, you should totally get it.

Breakfast at […]

A Simple Kind of Life

My husband and I are rewatching the wonderful BBC series All Creatures Great & Small for the holidays. I just love to snuggle under a blanket on the couch, turn on the Christmas tree lights, maybe indulge in a splash of Glenlivet and watch our old friends James, Siegfried and Tristan.

One thing I […]

I can’t remember where I first saw Kristine Lombardi’s work, but I think it was a hand drawn map featured in a magazine. One visit to her website and you will see why I think she’s got a line on that certain je ne sais quoi […]

The Principles of Uncertainty

Just finished reading the delightful book The Principles of Uncertainty by Maira Kalman. Kalman uses paintings, photographs and handwritten text in a sort of stream of consciousness memoir in which you are introduced to the most wonderful characters and places. I love how she rattles off Russian history and at […]
